语气词,如well, you know, I mean,可知speaker将要进行阐述或解释某事物

疑问句,即带疑问词what, when, where, who, why, which, how的问句,可知接下来可能给出问题的答案

结构提示词,如first drawback…another drawback…

如such as, for example和and, as well as, or, neither…nor, either…or

如furthermore, moreover, in addition, besides

如similarly, by comparison, in contrast, but, however, although, despite, yet

如in other words, in fact, as a matter of fact, especially, in particular, in essence

如so, as a result, in short, therefore, in sum, consequently

如because, since, thus, as, for

如-er, -est, more…than, best

4 Test3 Section 3

21 The man wants information on courses for

A  people going back to college

B  postgraduate students

C  business executives

Yes, hello. I've been referred to you because I'm enquiring about the refresher courses that you run. I'd like to find out a bit more about them.
女:Well, we run quite a few different short courses for students who are either returning to study or studying part-time. Urn, tell me about your situation.

5 Test4 Section 4

32 The speaker warns the students that

A  internet materials can be unreliable

B  downloaded information must be ackowledged.

C  computer access may be limited at times.

OK, now let me give you an outline of what's available to you. You'll find that the computers are increasingly used as a research tool. Many students do most of their research on the internet and the library computers are permanently online. Having found what you need, you'll find you can readily save texts on your personal computer space to print off when you need. You might think that it is the fastest way to get information but the links can be slow. Clearly you can find lots on there but much of it is useless information as it is from highly debatable sources- so be critical.

第六句出现了3个信号词but, as, so:Clearly you can find lots on there but much of it is useless information as it is from highly debatable sources- so be critical,即学生能在网上找到许多资料,但是大部分是没用的信息,原因是资料来源颇具争议,因此学生需要带着批判性眼光(去使用)。

4 Test 4 Section 4

Q39-40

Which TWO factors reduce the benefits of shark nets?

A  nets wrongly positioned

B  strong waves and currents

C  too many fish

D  sharks eat holes in nets

E  moving sands

F  nets too short

G  holes in nets scare sharks

Despite quite large catches, some people believe that shark meshing is not the best way to catch sharks. It's not that they think sharks are afraid of nets, or because they eat holes in them, because neither of these is true. But meshing does appear to be less effective than some other methods, especially when there are big seas with high rolling waves and strong currents and anything that lets the sand move - the sand that's holding the nets down. When this moves the nets will also become less effective.

第二句中明显重读的信号词是because neither of these is true,提示上文提到的两种并列情况(It's not that they think sharks are afraid of nets, or because they eat holes in them)被否定了,即并非鲨鱼害怕网,也不是鲨鱼要破网留下了洞。
But meshing does appear to be less effective than some other methods出现了表转折的But,表示它的前面不是重点,它的后面才是重点。然后出现表强调的especially,答案如期而至:especially when there are big seas with high rolling waves and strong currents and anything that lets the sand move…
