众所周知，雅思口语part2是很多同学备考的重点。每季度题目多达50几道，而且话题越来越广泛，考察我们描述生活中的各种经历。但碍于我们每个人的生活经历有限，不能很好地针对每道题目想到相应的素材。因此他们对很多话题都无话可说。

但我们要知道的一点是，考官其实对于考生讲的内容有很大的弹性，学生可以针对题目有自己独特的理解来描述。在考官看来，只要内容是关于题目内容可以有创新，可以不同于题目原本的出题角度。今天我就从一道题来分析一下有哪些新的素材思路，希望能够给到各位同学启发。

我选的题目是“describe a useful skill that you learned in a math class from your primary/high school”.这是我在课堂上很多同学提出疑问的一道题，他们没有想法，无从下手想素材。

面对题目，大部分的同学都能想到的skill可能有：calculation skill（计算能力），how to work out a function（如何解方程）, 或者 multiplication table（九九乘法表）等。这些都是我们数学课上学到知识点。一问学生，他们不会拓展细节，而且重点是这样的“数学知识点”设计大量的专有名词，不好深入描述，因此他们的思维就堵在了这道题上。

我们尝试从另一个角度想想，“知识点”是老师课堂必要教授的内容，但除此之外，一个老师在课堂上有没有可能教授别的内容呢？一个同学对于一个科目的成绩不好或者不感兴趣，是否代表ta在这个科目上一点收获都没有呢？并不见得，学生可能能从老师身上学到一下除了“知识点”外的东西，这样可以总结为我们素材。例如一些处理事情的方法或者经验教训等等。例如“老师教我解决问题不要是从一个角度想方法，尝试多从其他角度想”；又或者“老师跟我们讲考试中遇到难题要懂得放弃，先把会做的题目做完”等。对于以上两个观点我们可以总结素材为“try to think about solutions from different angles.”和“learn to give up when facing tough questions; first finish what you can do.”以上两个范例就是从“经验道理”的角度来想素材，这样一来学生就会觉得很容易入手描述。重点是这样的素材不限于猪油数学老师会教，其他科目的老师也可能会教。从“经验道理”的角度比“知识点”会更加容易接受，学生也更容易有同感。

下面附上我的一个范例参考：

The useful skill I learned in my high school is that” when trapped in the difficulty, skip it first because you might find solution when you look back”.

It was in the math quiz given by my math teacher. I was poor at my math, so the night before I even stayed up late to review the lesson, hoping to finish all the questions in the quiz. It turned out that I got stuck in a difficult question. I sweated a lot, wrecking my mind to think how to work out but I just couldn’t. I spent quite a long staring at the question. Having noticed my nervousness, my class teacher came to me lower her head and whispered to me, “just skip the one you can’t do and finish what you know, you might figure it out when you come back.” On hearing what she said, I skipped the tough question and did what I knew. When I finish all I could do, I returned to the challenging one. At that moment, I was calm and peaceful because I had finished what I could, I’d already got what I could.

Although I didn’t work it our eventually, I still achieved a sense a accomplishment because I had done what I could do

I came to realize what my teacher said, “do not get trapped in what you don’t know but make sure to finish what you can do”, which is beneficial for my work.
