托福综合写作，是否一定要做同义改写？

在托福考试中，针对综合写作，很多同学存在疑问：在写作中，是否一定要对阅读和听力部分做同义改写？此外，有一些老师也会要求学生，必须对综合写作的阅读和听力部分做改写，否则作文无法取得Good。

同义改写属于对写作部分语言的要求。在《官方指南》中，对于综合写作部分语言的要求如下：

The language you use should make sense and should accurately reflect the ideas presented in the lecture and the reading passage.

官方的重点有2个：把话说明白（make sense）+别出错（accurately)，根本没有提及同义改写（paraphrase）。换言之，做不做同义改写其实都可以。

语言水平好，确信自己改写文字不会出错的同学，完全可以在考试时做改写，丰富表达。

而语言水平一般，甚至提笔就错的同学，为了稳妥和降低写作难度，可以直接用听力和阅读原文进行输出表达。

事实上，官方范文并没有刻意做同意改写。

下面是《官方指南》给出的综合写作5分（分）范文的片段。

Reading部分：

Second, Rembrandt was a master of painting light and shadow, but in this painting these elements do not fit together...（后面内容不重要，省略）

Listening部分:

Second, the supposed error with light and shadow. Once the paint of the added fur collar was removed, the original painting could be seen. In the original paintingthe woman is wearing a simple collar of light-colored cloth. The light-colored cloth of this collar reflects lightthat illuminates part of the woman’s face. That’s why the face is not in partial shadow. （后面内容不重要，省略）

Writing范文：

Another problem with the painting was the display of light and shadow. Rembandt was knonwn as a master of painting light and shadow, yet contradictionally the elements in the work don't fit together. But this problem could also be explained by now. By removing the additional fur collar one could see that the lady is wearing a simple light colored cloth, which reflects light into her face.

对比官方范文和阅读、听力原文，可以发现，即使是5分范文，也基本没有做同义改写。

例如，范文中Rembandt was knonwn as a master of painting light and shadow，基本是对Rembrandt was a master of painting light and shadow的照抄。

而且，其中Rembrandt的名字抄错了，known也出现了拼写错误（估计大家都没看出来）。虽然这些minor errors并不会影响最终分数，但我们建议大家用最后3分钟通读文章做检查，尽量降低不必要的错误。

听力部分，关键词是remove, light-colored cloth, reflect light，这些词汇在官方范文中也没有做任何替换，确保输出信息的准确（accurately）。

总结：

综合写作中，同义改写不是必要能力。

如果能保证自己改写的准确性，可以做改写；

为了稳妥和降低写作难度，则可以直接用听力和阅读原文表达。
