Global warming is causing climate to change. This means negative things for many businesses, but it provides opportunities for some others.

To begin with, climate change is bad for many businesses. Although it is hard to estimate in exact terms（准确地）the extent to which various businesses may be influenced, it has been evident that climate-related disasters like droughts and floods and hurricanes, are starting to have an impact on businesses of many kinds. Globally, climate change presents a fundamental（根本的）threat to business prosperity（繁荣）, and it is increasingly recognized as a risk for business owners. For example, they will face rising insurance costs, or the insufficient supply of power and water. So, if they fail to innovate（变革）so as to adapt to the worsening climate change, bad effects would fall on them and leave them out of business.

Although it is not great to acknowledge that bad things can create opportunities, climate change does open up（催生）new possibilities for at least two business sectors. One area ripe for（时机成熟的）growth is renewable energy. In this area, businesses have set ambitious targets for wind, solar and hydro-power, and they may attract huge amount of investment. Meanwhile, eco-friendly construction companies can find new opportunities who help cities prepare for changes in climate as more and more people will live in urban areas and create a pressing demand for a host of infrastructure（基础设施）services, like water and electricity.

In conclusion, climate change will continue to be a long-term（长期的）risk to many businesses. However, those forward-thinking few can take immediate action and turn this vicious（坏的）trend into new opportunities.
