雅思写作中常见连词的使用

雅思写作评分标准中，“coherence and cohesion” （连贯性与衔接性）是其中的一项评分标准。连贯性与衔接性其中一个方面是通过连接词实现的，以下就跟新航道小编一起来看几种写作中常见的连接词。

1. 因果关系

表达“结果”时，常用的连词有“ therefore, as a result, consequently“等，这几个词的用法是介于两个句子之间，且后面加逗号，如：

1) The ecological problems are being aggravated. Therefore, it is imperative that we take measures to curb the pollution of the environment.

2) The late 20th century witnessed the prosperity in science and technology. As a result, it gives rise to the wide application of computers.

2、对比关系

表示 “对比” 关系的连词中，较常见的是while 与by contrast. while表示从句和主句的对比，而by contrast是两个句子间的对比。比如下面这句话：

1）Parents generally hold a favorable association with everyday homework, while their children show an objective attitude with it.

2) The reasons for this trend may involve the recognition that a young adult who passes directly from school to university is rather restricted in terms of general knowledge and experience of the world. By contrast, those who have spent some time earning a living or travelling to other places, have a broader view of life and better personal resources to draw on.

3、让步和转折关系

表示让步关系时常用“Despite/In spite of”，表示 “尽管”，但它后面直接跟的是名词或者是代词，如：

Despite/In spite of some fluctuation, there was an overall increase to 17unites.

2）However表示转折关系，用法很简单，但在写作中使用却很频繁，如：

However, there are certainly dangers in taking time off at that important age.
