备考tips：

5月份的新题库已经开始更新，今天我们分享一道新季度出现的题目：帮助别人的人

Describe someone you know who often helps others

You should say:

What he/she is like

How he/she helps others

Why his/her help is beneficial

And explain why he/she helps others

话题的关键词是帮助别人help others，千万不要围绕帮助自己help me来展开。别人≠我。所以要举出帮助其他人的例子，还要说得合情合理，也就是我是怎么知道这个人他帮助别人的。

我是怎么知道这个人在帮助别人的，这个人可以是你的roommate，因为住在一起，所以有观察到这个人他帮同学拿快递get a parcel delivery/package啊, 带早饭啊 buy something to eat啊，答疑解惑啊等等。也可以是在小区群里的某个人，因为大家在一个a WeChat group里，能够看得到群里的各种聊天记录。他has a heart of gold 心地善良，非常认真负责diligent的，亲切随和personable的。还可以某个志愿者volunteer, 在a charity里或者某个group里。把这些细节补充说明清楚，大家多多练习，相信就一定是可以的！

当然Help 的一些替换，正式的help是assist, aid。其他的help out, give somebody a hand, lend a hand ,give/lend/offer a helping hand, support 等等也要替换着，看语境来说。

三、写作部分

小作文：

柱状动态图，主题是“关于两个年份选择某英国大学的原因：离家距离、教学等等。

所以只需要按照哪些总体上升 哪些总体下降来进行分段就好了，所以说大家在进行小作文的备考上，还是要重点关注剑桥上的真题，基本上剑桥上的真题 可以涵盖到所有小作文的类型。

大作文：

If people go to live in another country, they should follow the local customs and traditions. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

如果人们去到另外一个国家去住，所以他们应该遵循当地的传统习俗。你多大程度上同意还是不同意？

这道题也是我们上课上讲过的一个非常简单典型的利弊类的题型，agree 重点关注优点，disagree 关注缺点就可以。但是这道题建议算是为数不多的选择agree，但是各位考生依旧可以从双边的角度出发：

同意的观点：

Body 1: Embracing local customs and traditions allows individuals to better understand the culture, values, and social norms of the host country.

否定的观点：it is important to strike a balance between embracing new customs and preserving one's own cultural identity.

四、阅读部分

今天的考试据说是今年最难的一场，今天的阅读有难到你么？

Passage 1：The future of work-life balance 工作和生活的平衡

首次出现：2008.04.12

类别：社会

难度：★★

题型配比：特殊词匹配4+判断4+填空

分析：雅思有个规律就是，每当有新的一本剑桥真题出现，往往会预示着接下来一年的考试趋势，剑18有一个较为明显的变化是P1出现了匹配题型，今天的p1可以说与剑18的特点不谋而合了，出现非常规填空+判断组合就非常考验考生的心态和应对能力，做到“不慌”就已经成功一半了。

Passage 2：Celebrity 欧洲名人传

首次出现：2009.08.08

类别: 人物

难度：★★

题型配比：段匹7+特殊词匹配3+填空3

分析：在2008年首秀之后，这篇文章只在2021年的1月16日考过。本篇难度还是比较大的，毕竟7道段落信息匹配题就会占用考生们不少的时间，今天的考试匹配题很多，极其考验考生们的时间管理能力。

Passage 3：海上石油泄漏

首次出现：2007.06.16

类别：环境

难度：★★★

题型配比：判断4+填空5+单选5

分析：继7月1日考试全是08年的旧题，今天这三篇也都是零几年的老题，尤其今天的passage3，是一篇07年的旧题。题型上是常规的passage3搭配，没有考句首配句尾，考的是填空，算是雅思官方仅有的一丝仁慈了。
